BareHand Technique For
EHV Maintenance. |
|
| |
Bare hand technique: |
|
| |
It is based on faradays principle, which states,
If a metal cage is brought in contact with a live conductor,
there is no electrical charge and electrically charged
region inside the metal cage.
The main tools for Hotline maintenance by Bare-hand technique. : -
|
|
| |
 |
Conductive suit, Hand gloves,
socks (woven from thin stainless steel wires and
special type of fibres), boots & static belts
are manufactured on above principle. |
 |
Hot line ladder & Swivel sticks
(manufactured from epoxy-glass) & adjstable
ladder hook. |
 |
Ladder monitor kit: - To detect
micro- amp. leakage through the ladder, this monitor
kit it is connected before it is placed into use
and periodical readings are taken during work progress
to assure safe working condition. |

| 1) |
Punctured insulator
can be detected with hot stick attached punctured
insulator detector either by Positron Make Electric
field method or by Ritz make Voltage meaurement
method. |
| 2) |
Hot spot noticed during
thermo graphic scanning can be attended by bare hand
technique of preventive maintenance. |
| 3) |
Defective jumper can
be relieved from the danger of breakdown by providing
parallel jumper. |
| 4) |
Bare hand technique
of insulator string replacement can be used upto
400 kV level. |
| 5) |
Outage
is avoided since whole work activity is done in
live line condition. |
